Micro-Mill Belt Drive Kit by TJ-CNC.

Kit was well packaged and the only things missing was the nifty TJ-CNC plate and the label showing the speeds for the various pulley combinations. Neither missing item keeps it from working and I think I can remember the ranges :-).

Assembly instructions took me right through the installation with no problems!

The quill pully took a bit of tapping with a block of wood and a very small jewelers hammer to seat far enough down to get the c-clip on. The motor pully has just a tiny bit of wobble, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that is a problem with that high quality Chinese motor shaft being off, this isn't significant, just noticible if you look close.

Biggest job was adding the extension to the motor wiring, but it wasn't all that hard. Getting at the ground connection for the motor took a bit of finessing and it was easy to get back in by taking out the 4 screws holding the controller and sliding it out. For the time being I used a spare PC power cable and it was indeed 18/3. Once I get a separate box for the controller I'll replace it with something disconnectable.

At first I thought that the adjustment was insufficient for the middle range (0-4000 RPM) but it isn't, just close to being at the end of adjustment. I elected to run on the middle range so I have some option for smaller cutters. Easy enough to change if I am wrong :-).

I didn't replace the spindle bearings at this time. I have no real plans to run on the high range, but if it gets to be an issue I can do so or add mount on the side of the head for a Dremel.

Yes, it is quieter and it no longer sounds like a dragon chewing on rocks :-). May add more to this after I get some experience using it. I'm going to feel a LOT better about using the flycutter now!
