1.Chuck up rod.
2. Turn taper on end. I used the side of a indexable carbide straight (threading) tool, just because I had it handy.
3. Take to mill and mill in slots in three places, evenly spaced (close works fine).
Works pretty well for driving wood in the 7x12. Might need to make the taper longer / thinner and possibly different sizes for various sized wood workpieces. First attempt worked out pretty well!|
